Last night after work, me and my best friend (Whom I shall now refer to as the Ice Princess) went shopping at the mall!! I didn't know what to get her for Christmas or her birthday which was last week, and she didn't know what to get me for the holidays either. So we came to the conclusion that we'd go shopping together and I'd go buy bras for her, and she'd buy somethign for me!
That didn't work out ...
We ended up buying make-up, work clothes, and I bought panties at La Senza last minute before they closed ... However! I did enjoy my time there very much!! I don't usually get time to spend with the Ice Princess, because her schedule is very filled between school, work, and her boyfriend. But still, we email each other every day and we are still able to keep this friendship strong! I've known her since grade 5 .. so that's really 12 years! Kind of odd saying 12 years .. but heck, it is 12 years! We had a few rough patches in jr. high, but she's been with me through the recent years as I treaded through mud, and struggled through thorns. Ah I love you!!
Today is her birthday party! And she requested that me and D make breaded shrimp for her .. and oooo are we ever going to! And from SCRATCH!! So after we go get my car's oil changed, we're going to get bun bo hue for lunch *nom nom nom* and go shopping for all the ingredients! WOOT!! I will post pics up later just to show you my adventure ^_^
Cheers~

01.14.2010 - Sugar coated Wednesday~ Crap I mean Thursday!!!
^ see? My day has been weird but awesome haha
If 13 is unlucky, then I guess 14 is my safety net. Everyone has bad habits. Some have it bad and for some, it’s more of an addiction than a habit. For my boyfriend (now known as D), he’s had this habit for years. I’ve been with him for a few months now, not very long, but it sure has felt like we’ve gone through a lot. His bad habits were always there, and I had made it known early on that I didn’t mind it as long as it got out of hand, and he had promised to quit in the New Year. Now I don’t ever expect anyone to quit anything cold turkey. There are things that take a process, one step at a time, and it must be done slowly and carefully. For him, I always thought it was going to be this way. But the only thing that ever bothered me is that he never made an obvious effort to stop. It’s the same as my second post regarding thinking it hard enough and assuming that it would work out. I didn’t constantly bug him about it as much as I wanted to; I wasn’t his mother and didn’t have the same expectations as she did.
So once in a while, I let him know how I felt, but never did he want to actually sit and talk to me about it. It made me sad, but heck I was happy enough that he was telling me and he was willing to tell me. I knew there was that effort to try, but I didn’t know where it was.
I also had a friend who is a close friend of his (now known as J), who called me every so often, just to talk about my boyfriend. “D needs to get his life back together, he needs to stop, etc, etc” and it always bothered me: if you’re so damn worried about him, why are you telling me and not him? He answered me once “I don’t have any influence on him and he won’t listen to me.” Well, excuse me, but if you have some concern, should you let it be known? Then you can let him decide if he would do something about it. It drove me nuts!! Not because I was listening to him rant about my boyfriend, but the fact that he kept telling me “go talk to D, go talk to him, blah blah blah” I was sick of being the messenger and looking like I’m drilling my boyfriend every time he goes out with the guys.
So yesterday when my friend called to rant again, I had it. I kinda zoned out and said “Uh-huh, okay” throughout the conversation. Then when he hung up, I just snapped and told my boyfriend what was said. I was sick of it. I wasn’t angry, mind you, but I gets to a point where I can’t handle too much of the same thing. D understood our concerns, but truth be told, I didn’t know how much of it he took seriously. I ranted, and I was done. I talked about food after ..
Then this morning I decided to check my facebook. I had a message waiting for me from my boo. He said he had a lot going on lately and realized he needed to get things back together.
It’s not going to be easy but with you by my side it helps me a lot.
He was going to stop completely, say no to it from now on.
There’s a little more but this morning, I kinda bawled my eyes out, just from knowing that he decided that all at once. I never expected him to just stop like that, but its like he’s reached an epiphany or something. Just the biggest thank you to him and whatever else that helped him find his resolve. ^_______^
So thanks to that happy message (that I’ve read over and over again) I’ve been acting like a 15 year old girl in love. I went to Safeway and tried to go in through the OUT door. I went to Starbucks and after I paid, I turned around and heard a plunk behind me. I had knocked over one of their syrup bottles onto the floor. As I went to put it back, I did this awkward hyena like laugh “ah ha ha ha ha~!!” and the girl behind me laughed aloud when she heard it. Then I wandered around the fruit and vegetable section for like 10 minutes because I couldn’t find the raspberries but eventually I did! And when I went to pay, I had the hardest time getting my debit out and I laughed as I had to put EVERYTHING that I was holding down onto the conveyor belt. And … not surprisingly, when I tried to leave, I tried to exit through the IN door. I did that awkward laugh because an older lady saw me stand in front of the IN door, waiting for it to open. “Today is tooootally not my day!” and giggled and went to the right door. But I’ve noticed that the doors are opposite of what most other malls, grocery stores, etc place their doors. So maybe it’s not totally my fault ..?
Also I was on the phone today and a lady called asking for a “Health and Safety Awareness” binder, incase someone stabbed themselves with one of their machines (exact words of hers btw) and as I tried to tell her to call another place, I bashed my head against the edge of my desk. “Call the College, they might – 3$^@#$%@ OW .. ow ow!” And she started laughing and said that maybe I should get the book for myself haha. I was trying to put on my shoe ..
And I got a filet o fish burger again .. for the .. 4th day in a row? But I got my parfait this time!!! So its like TOTALLY AWESOME!!
This day has just been so hilarious and cute for me that I can’t help but laugh at every mistake I’ve been doing. Like “Oopsies! AHAHAHHAAH oh stupid ME!!” kind of deal. Just that one little message from him made my day so much brighter and it makes me feel invincible! No matter how immobile my left arm is becoming!! And Titus (my son) started to talk more, putting the sprinkle of sugar on top of my day.
Titus: “Where mummy car?! I don no mommy car! Where?!”
Me: “Where? Where’s mommy’s car?”
Titus: “DERE EET EES!!” and he bolted to my car to show me.
Aah .. the sweet simple things in life .. how much I so very enjoy it. <3
I know you probably won't read this, but I love you, boo~ You and only you ^_^
And to Titus, you definitely won't read this, but I super love you!!

01.13.2010 - 13 is not my lucky number..
Today was full of mixed feelings .. I mostly spent the day with a hard time breathing and a hard time doing anything, really. I slipped and fell on my back on Sunday, carrying three bags in my left arm, and my son in my right. He was fine .. the bags were fine. I wasn't winded, which is somewhat surprising, but immediately I could feel my neck and upper back hurt reeeal good. And fyi .. my head was about 5 inches away from the sidewalk.. Lucky it was warmer and the snow melted a little, my fall was cushioned a little. I landed on my son's leg but he was perfectly fine; he whined a little from the fright but heck he's much better than me.
So today my left arm kept stiffening up, I kept cracking it, and now it takes a lot of effort to lift my arm. The muscles around the shoulder specifically hurt.. And I've had a headache since I woke up, and my back is doing murder to me..
Thankfully, my work will cover up to $500 a year for chiro. ^__^b yay for benefits!
And at lunch, I had to pick up my son from school and drive him to his temporary sitter.. and then back to work I go. That's an hour and maybe 5 mins of my day .. there goes lunch! But I dropped by mcD's again today.. guilty as charged! Worst part was when I was going to pick him up, there was the worst traffic jam on the high way .. and I never figured out why. My half hour drive turned into one hour.. but oh well.. the whole time I was depressive and lonely ..
Then I went to the car wash. There were four cars ahead of me.. I thought sure why not?! But .. I think I sat there for a good half hour .........
Got home and my boyfriend's mom called me, demanding to know why he took her SUV. Said no.. he should be in his room sleeping. She decided to check (for the first time .. lol) and tah dah! He was sleeping! So .. we came to the conclusion that it was stolen. YAY!
And to top it off .. a friend of mine won't stop calling me to talk to me about my boyfriend and how he needs to change etc. Question: if you're so damn concerned, why don't you talk to him?! What's the use of talking to me?!
Rant done. My arms hurt from typing and keeping up for this long ..
So to send you off with a happy note: I had instant noodles for dinner with a poached egg ^__^ mind you they soaked up the water so they got soggy really fast and too salty .. But I loved them just! And then I just munched out on asian snacks .. I have an eating problem .......
Or .....
It might be the pill that I'm on .. I can't stop eating, being moody, and always so damn tired.
May I mention, to Stephie and Minh, that my boobs got bigger? Apparently .. according to Dat.. ... ........ Stephie come feel!!
<3
Speaking of benefits, coming Monday, I'll be going for a couples massage with my boo~ And again, my work benefits will cover it!

01.12.2010
There's this joke I heard recently from a coworker, and though I
admit, I find it amusing, I also find the moral behind it very strong.
There was an old man sitting on his porch watching the rain fall. Pretty soon the water was coming over the porch and into the house. The old man was still sitting there when a rescue boat came and the people on board said, "You can't stay here you have to come with us."The old man replied, "No, God will save me." So the boat left.
A little while later the water was up to the second floor, and another rescue boat came, and again told the old man he had to come with them. The old man again replied, "God will save me." So the boat left him again.
An hour later the water was up to the roof and a third rescue boat approached the old man, and tried to get him to come with them. Again the old man refused to leave stating that, "God will grant a miracle & save me." So the boat left him again.
Soon after, the man drowns and goes to heaven, and when he sees God he asks him, "Why didn't you save me? I thought you would grant me a miracle and you have let me down."
God replied, "You idiot, I don't know what you're complaining about. I sent three boats after you!!"
Funny, yes, but also when you think about it, it has it's message.
People can't keep praying and praying, hoping for a miracle, trusting that something will happen if they won't do anything about it. Another similar joke:
John, who was in financial difficulty, walked into a church and started to pray. "Listen God," John said. "I know I haven't been perfect but I really need to win the lottery. I don't have a lot of money. Please help me out."
He left the church, a week went by, and he hadn't won the lottery, so he walked into a synagogue. "Come on, God," he said. "I really need this money. My mom needs surgery and I have bills to pay. Please let me win the lottery." He left the synagogue, a week went by, and he didn't win the lottery.
So, he went to a mosque and started to pray again. "You're starting to disappoint me, God," he said. "I've prayed and prayed. If you just let me win the lottery, I'll be a better person. I don't have to win the jackpot, just enough to get me out of debt. I'll give some to charity, even. Just let me win the lottery."John thought this did it, so he got up and walked outside.
The clouds opened up and a booming voice said, "John, buy a fucking lottery ticket."
Again, you can't pray and hope if you don't do jack shit and expect everything to fall at your feet in an orderly fashion at your convenience. Do something! This doesn't have to be just about what you want in life, it relates to the people around you too! Your girlfriend, boyfriend, relative, they're doing something and you keep praying for them but if you don't speak up and let them hear your concern, they're not going to know and it's not going to give them that option to change or help themselves. If you mean good for someone or something, why not do something about it?My uncle once asked my mother why didn't she save up money for something she wanted, and she answered, "If I pray and think hard enough, it'll come to me."
Yeah, no.
But to change the topic and end my rant of the week, I got THE PERFECT Filet o' Fish the other night so-melt-in-your-mouth-goodness~ I'm eating another one as I'm typing this but it's nothing comparable to the one I had before..If you're wondering why I'm raving about it and thinking "It's just a burger.." Consider the fact that its MCDONALD'S!! I've had unedible burgers before .. the bun was stale ..the patty was dried like a mummy and the cheese was more like old glue. Ooooh you can only imagine the look on my face when I bit into that piece of deformed mass .. bleeeeegh!!
I had a job interview yesterday morning at a law firm downtown. A friend told me to have confidence, and I'll do fine! I tried, but it's hard when the office is full of lawyers .. and the HR lady interviewing me had lopsided eyes .. I'M SORRY!! But it was so gosh darn hard to concentrate when she NEVER BLINKED and I was never always sure if she was looking at me .. All in all, the interview went well ^_^ and I find out next week if I make their first cuts but .. I'm doubing it a little because she said they'd consider people who could start immediately first, than those who'd have to give notice to work.. I'll be crossing my fingers and toes until I get that phone call.. Here's to knew things in the new year!!

01.10.2010 - Introduction
Hello~
Never thought I'd have a blog but heck I used to have a diary and it helped getting thoughts out, so why not?! Also since two of my favorite girls are doing it, I'll join in this fad!
There's a lot of changes that have happened to me in the past year and a lot of them were good, but some of them make me sad. It made me realize that nothing ever lasts, even if it seems strong enough to endure any kind of disaster. But there are times when the disaster starts in places you'll never see. So I've learned to cherish the moments I can have and never regret.
When shit hits the fan, just go wash it off and try not to stand in the line of fire next time.
But on to happy stuff!
The transition from 2009 to 2010 has been so far so good! I have wonderful friends, however many or few, and a very loving family. My son is turning 4 in a couple months and it partially scares me to realize how fast he is growing. It's almost like he's a weed! And it's taken me a very long time to find out who's a real friend, who's not. This is most definitely going to be a life long process, but for now, for those who are by my side, it makes the so damn happy. I even was lucky enough to find someone to love me as much as I love him. The best part of it all though, is that we're able to read each others minds when it comes to food and movies. We're both so weird and crazy, that it fits and makes me laugh at how wonderful it all is.
Oh how grateful I am for everything that has been bestowed upon me.
I consider myself very lucky, being born in the year of the rabbit, and it's true that I believe the Chinese horoscope to a certain degree. At times, I wonder if the gods play games with me, giving me the worst of luck and turns around on me and fixes my problem perfectly. It's like a rollercoaster ride, my luck. It peaks up, plunges down, and does several loops around just for shits and giggles. Whenever I do get the chance to sit and breathe, I laugh at everything that's happened to me.
For example, I was driving once and spun out on black ice doing 30 km/hr. Didn't realize it but when I fishtailed into the curb, it punctured my tire wall (one tire). Got out to look but didn't see anything bad, so proceeded to drop my son off at his sitter and drive to work. Half way to work my car started vibrating like MAD. Now I'm on the highway and could only think of the worst but didn't want to stop! But lo and behold, there's a Fountain Tire up ahead so I pull into there and in my side mirror I saw my rear tire suddenly go fwop and blough .. turns out my rim ripped most of the tire apart. The greatest part of this was that my rims were not damaged (thank god) and my work decided to pay for the new tire. <3
See? Very odd luck .. I just learned to accept it, smile, and keep going!! YEAH!!
Never thought I'd have a blog but heck I used to have a diary and it helped getting thoughts out, so why not?! Also since two of my favorite girls are doing it, I'll join in this fad!

YEAH!!
